Scott leads NATIONAL's online communications practice and has over 16 years of experience in strategic communication design, web development and creative design providing a diverse range of technology solutions for clients in the areas of energy, technology, health care, manufacturing, transportation, forestry, commercial real estate, public private partnerships, government and arts and culture. He develops the communications potential of organizations by moving companies online with a focus on strategy, user experience and managing the development of sound technology solutions. Scott is an innovator, creative thinker and award-winning communicator, with expertise in web, print television and emerging social technologies.
Prior to joining NATIONAL, Scott served as an art director in the digital stock photo industry with Getty Images, Adobe Systems Incorporated, EyeWire, Inc. and Image Club Graphics where he led design and development teams creating marketing communications for North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. There he also developed projects for Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and Apple.
Scott began his career with Western International Communications as an art director, working with BCTV (Vancouver), CICT (Calgary), ITV (Edmonton), and CHCH (Hamilton). He later served as art director for Digital Explorer Interactive Media.
Scott is a graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design (Visual Communications) with distinction and has studied Petroleum Technology at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Scott is an instructor at Mount Royal College in the Centre for Communication Studies teaching web mediated communication and has instructed graphic design at the Alberta College of Art and Design.
Scott is a founding member of the Creative Skills Training Council, sits on the ethics committee for the Canadian Public Relations Society and volunteers for The Vimy Foundation.
